The Hub in Dorchester

Most people in Dorchester have heard of the Hub. Not all of them know what it is except "It's that place for the homeless." In fact the Hub is a day centre, hidden away between the Build Centre and the West Rail Station, that offers friendly practical help to those who sleep rough. It has both an open access and an appointment service and it aims to work with each person individually to help them tackle their problems and work towards a more settled lifestyle.

The Friends of the Hub aims

to prevent and relieve hardship, need and distress amongst those who are homeless and/or sleeping rough in dorchester and the surrounding area including weymouth by;
(1) raising awareness among the public of the needs of such people:
(2) raising funds by way of public subscription and donations in order to provide financial support for the work of other organisations who are meeting the needs of such people:
(3) attracting people to support those other organisations by volunteering their services.
